About

Grace Korman (they/she) is currently training in fine craftsmanship through projects incorporating 18th- and 19th-century furniture at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, Massachusetts.

Prior to studying at NBSS, Grace taught bowl and spindle turning at Factory 3 Makerspace in Portland, Maine. Grace’s turning instructor, Ric Day, provided encouragement and tips throughout the years that lead her to pursue woodworking as a full time practice. Prior to learning how to turn, they would dabble in bowl and spoon carving during time off at summer camp, where they were fortunate enough to have access to a woodshop and gain introductory experience in woodworking.

As someone who has benefited greatly from the generosity of others, Grace works to keep access, education, and queer community front of mind as they continue to navigate and explore sculpture and function through thoughtfully and intentionally made objects.
